Spring Break Fever

So I am enjoying my Spring Break and taking a couple of "ME" days--which has consisted so far of cleaning the house throughly for a showing and then having to find things to do during the showing. Yesterday was SO nice that I decided to go buy Zoey a sand and water play box for the deck--something different for her to do when she gets home. Then I went a little crazy at the shoe store, but that is a different blog.

I was so excited for Zoey to come home from daycare yesterday and play with her sandbox. Zoey came home and went directly to the TV--which has been the routine, unfortunately, since she was sick for so long, but I led her to the deck and she just took over the sand box. I kept trying to talk to her about her day, but she was concentrating so much that she wouldn't talk. She got nice and dirty scooping up the sand and putting it in the water. I think that my purchase was worth it and we all got to spend some time on the deck enjoying the nice weather.

After Zoey being sick for 6 days, today was a nice change in events. She seemed helathy, had her appetite back in full, and her spirits were high--even her sense of humor blossomed today. It was just an overall great family day. Zoey started her day by eating 3 pancakes, some jello, and a container of yogurt. She was even allowed some milk--which made her extremely happy! Then it was so nice that she and I went outside and walked around for a while, then went and played on the deck. I noticed that the wind had picked up a little and thought that maybe we should go and try flying the kite again. So off we went. . .

Note to self: when taking Zoey to fly a kite, don't pass a park on the way.

The kite flew great--but Zoey was not interested--she just wanted to play at the park.

Zoey and I shared a snack. She was having some G-a Crackers. (That is what she has dubbed the pack of wheat thins that Grandma left behind last time she was here.)

Zoey is looking forward to going back to daycare for a couple of days. It will be nice to get into her routine again. Mommy is on Spring Break--Woo Hoo! and will spend a day or two getting things done and in order and then will spend Wednesday with Zoey and on Thursday we head up north for a visit with Grandma and Grandpa and Kylie's 1st birthday party--we are all very excited!

Underwater Adventures

Last weekend Zoey was excited to have Grandma and Grandpa Nyhlen visiting, along with Gracie. Zoey stayed with them on Friday instead of going to daycare and had quite the adventure. She and the grandparents went out shopping at the toy store for Kylie's birthday gift (No, Kylie, we won't tell you what they got!) and then tried to go to the park and fly a kite--but there wasn't enough wind that day. On Saturday, we went to the Mall of America where we got to see a lot of Mommy's family. There were aunts and uncles and cousins. We went out to eat and then went to Underwater World for the very first time. Zoey enjoyed all the fish and also got to spend sometime with Mommy's cousin's daughter Allison.

Here are Zoey and Allison.

We couldn't leave with out taking a picture of Zoey, Grandma, and the Cat and the Hat!

We thought about leaving Zoey and Allison in the cage from Jaws, but decided that wouldn't look right.

But then Zoey almost got eaten by a shark! Yikes!

I don't really know who got worn out more--me or Zoey, but we sure did have a fun weekend!
Thanks for visiting Grandma and Grandpa--we will see you again next weekend!

Appeasing the Grandparents. . .

As Nana has pointed out, we haven't blogged any new pictures lately, so I thought I would appease the grandparents by putting up some pictures and writing some Zoey Stories.

Above is a picture of Zoey and the surprise that she got in the mail a couple of weeks ago. She loves her some bubbles--so Grandpa and Grandma Nyhlen sent her a Dinosaur Bubble Maker. She has had a lot of fun chasing around the bubbles. It did take her awhile to actually play with the new toy--apparently a dinosaur that blows bubbles can be a little scary.

Below, Zoey models the latest spring fashion--straight from Paris, I believe. She is sporting a onsie that is too small (I can't believe how many clothes she doesn't fit into anymore), a bright orange visor, and a trend that I am positive will catch on with all toddlers--one boot.

This past weekend, along with a visit with Nana and Poppa and a swimming trip to the YMCA, Zoey and I spent some time on the deck building a snow kid. Correction, I built a snow kid and Zoey just walked around eating snow. Yummy!

As for Sprout--he is doing great. I am 20 weeks along and feeling much better. I am starting to feel him moving around more and more--and remembering how cool that feels! Zoey seems like she likes the idea of having a little brother. She likes to point to my tummy and tell me about the baby and then point to her tummy and say, "I have baby, too!" Hmmm. . .
