Welcome Kristie Alexandra!

We were all set to meet Kristie Alexandra during our trip up to Moorhead/Grand Forks last week, but Kristie had different plans. Zoey's and Zander's new cousin was born today at 9:54 am. She weighs 7 lb. 12 oz. and is 19" long. So although we are so glad that she is here, we are sorry that we weren't able to welcome her in person. Rob said that everyone is doing great. Kylie sure looks like a glowing big sister!

When we were up north, we attended Kylie's 3rd birthday party. Zoey did a fantastic job of letting the birthday girl open the gifts. I was so proud of her. She and Kylie analyzed them all and Zoey helped her break a few of them in.

Zander was never quite himself thoughout my whole spring break. In the picture below he whined so much about being able to hold the salt shaker that we finally gave him an empty one. He put a LOT of pretend salt on his pancakes!

Last Thursday we visited Kylie in Moorhead before going to Grand Forks. We took a trip to the mall to play at the playland. The kids all enjoyed a snack in the food court.

Happy St. Patty's Day!

As a treat for Zoey and I tonight, we went out for dessert at Perkins after dance class. We had some pie and watched the balloon man make all kinds of different balloon shapes. Zoey chose the four-leaf clover. She also got to see some friends from daycare--she is such a social butterfly!

Zander had a fever yesterday and had to stay home with me again today. Although he didn't have a fever anymore, he was really tired and cuddly. It really is a bittersweet thing to have a sick child. He napped on the couch this morning and eventually made his way on top of me for about an hour nap. So sweet!

Here is a sure sign that spring is finally here--Zoey's mud boots! She is so excited to play in the mud. (I even warned her about getting stuck like her Uncle Rob did when he was young--she doesn't seem phased.)We got the big wheel put together finally and it is a bit big for Zander, but Zoey sure enjoys it.

The tricycle was more Zander's style.Zoey in her happy place.

It was pajama day at daycare last week. Even though Zander's pajama were a bit big, I couldn't resist the matching duo.

The Birthday Santa

As is tradition for Zoey, she is way excited about her birthday way too soon! We keep telling her that she has some time to enjoy being three, but she wants to be four. You should have seen how excited she was when I told her that she was not 3 1/2 anymore and that she was 3 3/4. But she has fabricated the Birthday Santa in what I can only assume is a scheme to get more gifts, but who knows. . .maybe Hallmark will watch this and it will become a household figure.

"Naked Baby, naked baby, nake, nake, nake. . ." (the song song by Zoey whenever one of the two kids runs around the house in their diaper/underwear.)
